Hello all! This if your friendly OSF LJ group creator speaking!

Well, we sadly haven't had a post for a while. *tear tear* So I'm posting.

A new season of OSF is starting! YAY! Is anyone else as excited as I am? I know I am! ... Ok, that sounded a lot lamer than I thought it would.

So, RANDOM QUESTION(S) TIME!! Who is you favorite actor/actress? Who's your least favorite actor/actress? Please tell us why you like/dislike them as well!

I'll answer now:
My favorite actor is, obviously, Christopher DuVal. I've seen him in A Midsummer Nights Dream, Comedy of Errors, Room Service, Love's Labours Lost, and Twelfth Night. He's extraordinarily funny and a very talented actor. He's also very nice. I've never actually talked to him in real life, but I sent him an e-mail and he graciously responded. And then, like the dork i am, I found his phone number and left a message on his machine. He called back and left me a message thanking me. So yes, HE'S AWESOME! My favorite actress is Robin. She kicks ass! I also love Ray Porter! I'm so sad that he left. But he's nice too! I added him as my myspace friend and he left me an awesome comment!
My least favorite actor/actress? I'm not too practically found of Julie Oda anymore.

Ok, now you guys respond!

(Anonymous): Favorite/Least Favorite

Hi! I'm not an LJ member (but I'm considering joining).

I love OSF. More power to Puck for making this page.

Okay, my favorite performer is definitely Tyler Layton. She is beautiful, talented, and has an amazing stage presence. I saw her play Joan in HENRY VI and was blown away. My boyfriend saw her as Brooke (in her underwear) in NOISES OFF and had a HUGE crush on her for weeks! I was very jealous (but I understood, kinda).

Okay, least favorite: Julie Oda.

Why? Every time I see her, she is just so WHINY. It is like listening to nails on a blackboard when she acts. Also, (and this might sound mean), she's just not pleasing to look at. She's always squinting. It ruined KING LEAR for me to watch her as Cordelia.

Thankfully, there's plenty of good actors in the company. I'll go see the plays THEY are in. LOL!

Everyone seems to hate Julie Oda...I've only seen her in "Gibraltar" and "Comedy of Errors." I don't love her, but I don't hate her either.

I don't think I can pick a favorite OSF actor; I have this thing where I end up completely idolizing everyone I see. Not very professional of me, I know, but I'm learning to get over it. With that said...hmmm... well, I practically cried when I found out that Aisha Kabia left. I was basically in love with her...I mean, how can you not love her as Sylvia in "The Philanderer," making people call her "Craven, old chap"? I'm also infatuated with Kevin Kenerly. I met him after "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom" last season and made him autograph my playbill. (I know, I'm a freak.) And I have to agree with Anonymous about Tyler Layton. She is frickin' amazing. And Christopher DuVal is my hero too, and... God, I've got to stop, or I'll name the entire acting company.

In 34 days, I'll be in Ashland with my drama class. I'm shriveling up and dying until Thursday, March 30, on which day my life will become worthwhile again.

hey, all... different "anonymous" here lol

"Hate" is far too strong a word for Julie Oda. She hardly arouses that much passion. But her acting's one colossal yawn. Do not operate heavy machinery when watching this woman act!

Favorites: Chris Duval (genius), Layton (a babe), Cristofer Jean (miss him), and Robin (she rocks).

I never saw Cristofer Jean in anything...but his headshot in the 2004 season playbill puzzled me. He definitely looked like a girl...a really pretty girl, too...

Ok, i'm not a member of the community but I have to pitch in.

Best actress: most definitely robin goodrin-nordli. did you see hedda? or idiot's delight for that matter?

Best actor: Brent Harris. I think he went away. But he was so good. So good.

I really don't like Julie Oda, I would agree.

Robin as Hedda was absolutely fabulous (which is an obvious understatement)...but by far she is my favorite. Linda Alper pulls in a close second.

I wonder where Brent Harris went off to? It's disappointing he's not in the company this season, because yes, he was so good. Both he & Robin in Present Laughter a few seasons back were so delightful to watch together.
Then again as Beatrice & Benedick in' 04. :)

Oh I know! I loved Much Ado About Nothing. At OSF the shakespeares are always a gamble, but that one really hit it. I wouldn't miss a show with either of them. I just saw UP, which was very good.

Hm, maybe i should join this community...

Definitely!! It was so enjoyable. Robin and Brent both totally hit the mark with the snappy/witty remarks to one another. One right on top of each other, which I just loved. And the way they staged how each of them overheard the conversations in the garden was so amusing.

Oh yes, I saw UP twice in one day actually! (Only because I paid for student tickets, so it was only 10 bucks each time! Hahaha) but I really enjoyed it. I think some of it could be re-worked a little by the playwright but I thought it has excellent potential!

Maybe you should, yes :) Although it doesn't seem to get much action
